As I mentioned two years ago in Dragonsinn Turns 25, I can’t remember when exactly in June that the site was launched in 1999.
It was possibly in the middle of the month, because it was sometime during my secondary school break in Singapore.
For now, I’ve decided that it could have been anywhere from the 10th to the 20th of June, and I may randomly select a different day every year for the website’s anniversary 🎂

Website Anniversary Ideas
Since I like to keep most of my hobbies low-stress, here are some easy anniversary ideas I had in mind:
- Yearly “Keeper’s Note” — a reflective post about what Dragonsinn meant to me that year
- A spotlight — resurfacing an old post, old sketch, or something else from the archive
- Timeline update — add something to a “Dragonsinn Through the Years” page; possibly an add-on page to Mythic Milestones or the original timeline post
- Yearly blessing — small poetic note to the website
- Post upgrade — updating one of the older, classic posts here with a modern addition)
- A dragon sketch — if the mood strikes
Year 27 = Keeper’s Note (Reflection)
I decided to start visually, and put together a quick video (embedded at the top of this post) before writing this.
As Dragonsinn enters Year 27, a quick look at the past year:
- It was a year of unexpected shifts: creatively, personally, and in the quiet corners of my life.
- I started taking some of my dragon figurines on scenic road trips.
- I filmed more, wandered more, and wrote a lot of poems last summer.

New Recruits to the Filming Crew
This month, Dragonsinn welcomed two new field operatives into the filming crew, each arriving with their own personality, material quirks, and mythic comedic timing.
First, the fire-breathing Papo Red Dragon, who showed up looking like a ceramic figurine but turned out to be made of durable synthetic material. It looked a bit shiny, but I it’ll handle Maine terrain well.
The second box held a silver-blue Bullyland Dragon, which felt sturdy but not rigid. I wanted a blue-toned one for winter filming, riverbank wind, or unpredictable skies.
I browsed for PVC dragon figurines as:
- My original Lego dragons are very cute, but more fragile than I assumed. They’re around 30 years old so I didn’t want to use them all the time on rugged terrain.
- I wanted something lightweight and easy to carry. The two new additions are around 5 inches. I may get 1 or 2 bigger figurines in future if I feel a need for it.
Together, these join the existing crew as Year 27’s unexpected but well-timed additions.
I’ll follow up with another post on assigning these crew members individual names, as I started writing it here but it started to get a bit too long and rambling.
Year 27 will continue with movement, curiosity, and a touch of playful energy.
