Wat Sam Phran, Dragon Sketch

My art process video of a Wat Sam Phran dragon temple sketch (located in Thailand).

Hi all,

I did a sketch of Wat Sam Phran temple in Thailand recently, which has a huge green dragon coiling around the cylindrical building.

I tried a video version of it to slowly expand my tiny YouTube channel over the next few months.

Format: Narrated, slideshow, no time-lapse (with ambient “to the temple” music in the background)

Video contents:

  • Reference photo of Wat Sam Phran
  • WIP sketches
  • Final sketch (linework + digital touch-up)
  • 5 interesting facts about the temple
  • Technical learnings (marker pens, shading)

Why this sketch?

Dragons and buildings are two subjects I enjoy drawing. This temple looked dramatic and challenging for a sketch (never mind actually building it).

(All images are in the video—too lazy to re-upload them here, sorry!)
