Microcast Milestone: 1000+ Downloads & Episode #100
🎤︎
Heads Up: This post is actually the script from my microcast episode.
I’m not turning Dragonsinn into a transcript blog. I just wanted to include this one because it marks a milestone (and yes, it also mentions the Dragonsinn website).
Most regular posts will stay in their usual photographic or mythic reflection format. This one’s just a tiny broadcast joining the archive.

Hello everyone, and welcome to episode 100.
I was initially going to quit once I hit 100 episodes, because I usually have at least several side projects going on at the same time.
And I’m also trying very hard to focus on a long term career pivot, which has nothing to do with the creative stuff that I like to do as hobbies.
But I recently noticed that this microcast crossed a thousand plus downloads, which is kind of bonkers because this was never meant to be a “serious podcast” or anything polished or commercial. It was just a quiet space for me to practice speaking out loud, or a place to share thoughts without overthinking it.
So, while these numbers are not huge in the traditional podcast sense, I still find them meaningful because they kind of reflect the consistency that happens when you keep showing up for a practice, even if you don’t have super strong goals or outcomes for it.
And if you’re just randomly chancing upon this microcast through this particular episode, it actually began as a place for me to share 3 to 5 minutes fragments, again, without much polish.
As I have mentioned a few times, I do get speech anxiety sometimes in public situations, especially if it’s in an impromptu public speaking context.
And I’m going to go on a slight tangent, because I’ve also had to work for a very, very long time on certain pronunciations that I struggle with for some reason. I think they’re just mostly out of bad habits.
One is with the letter ‘R’. I’m often not pronouncing it as crisply as I should. And this became a habit that started in my mid to late 20s, maybe. Which I’m still trying to undo in daily conversation. I do think that daily effort and awareness makes a difference in the long term.
Okay, so back to the main thread.
So somewhere along the way, these tiny recordings here became more of like mini reflections of the creative as well as mythic terrain that occupies my mind, a good part of the time.
Now that my main website, Dragonsinn, which was first created in 1999, has evolved over the years. . .there’s often a level of crossover between my side projects, like writing or sketching.
I suppose in the broader Dragonsinn ecosystem, the microcast sometimes acts like a tiny broadcast in the form of little reflections, seasonal projects, poetry that I’m working on, or website updates.
So even though the past 100 episodes have mostly been on the short side, like most of them are less than 5 minutes on average. . . I still feel they have been purposeful in a way, and I enjoy recording them if it’s done intentionally and with an amount of flexibility.
I also think that a voice note recording is very different from a YouTube video, because it’s just the voice. There’s no visuals, and there’s nothing dazzling in a multimedia sense.
Now that I am probably going to keep this microcast going past 100 episodes, some of the things I might talk about include:
- driving rants, because as I mentioned 2 episodes ago, I recently moved and some of the intersections here are questionable
- I might also share travel thoughts
- thoughts about nature, hiking, and the dragon film crew that I rely on for YouTube videos
- I might also share cooking reflections on top of the usual creative or chapbook, writing stuff that I think the beginning of this microcast tended to heavily focus on
Also, thank you for listening to these tiny recordings and being part of this slightly odd but evolving creative practice.
And if you also have a small ritual that you are consistent with, do keep it up because it’s nice to keep showing up for things that mean something to you.
