As I mentioned in a couple of previous posts, I had been planning to move at some point this year.
I’m grateful it all went smoothly. I moved from a rural area to a more central one.
I’ve selected a few dragon-themed photos for now, and may share a few more pictures in future of the place itself.
Usually I downsize before I move, and this time was no exception. I feel like those are a good time to toss out or donate wardrobe items I no longer use or haven’t used in a long, long time, so on and so forth.
Thoughts on Decor
I had a used copy of “Northern Delights” for several months prior to moving.
I like the uncluttered, well-lit, and open space approach in Scandi design, so that was a philosophy I roughly followed as I moved in.
It’s already looking a bit more cluttered now that I’m actually using my small desks and stuff for various purposes.
But I’d say it looks more lived in, and that is important too in terms of daily comfort within the space.

I also came across a cool “This Area Protected by Dragons” metal plate when I wandered around in a local store a few times, so that went straight to the downstairs area.
I put it beside a mystery pair of dice that the previous occupant had left behind 🎲
The first few weeks were tremendously busy as the place was mostly unfurnished, and there were some plumbing and other issues to see to.
The walls and some of the cabinets were quite dirty, so I took my time deep cleaning those as well.
I found a $0.80 mini fake potted plant, so that went on the window sill beside a small ceramic dragon.
And I liked the vibe, energy, and colours in this dragon phone charm, so it is hanging by the staircase.

The kitchen is quite small in comparison to my previous place from a few years ago.
I have adapted by using fewer appliances and being more selective with spices for now.
I did however get a dragon ramen bowl for both aesthetic and functional purposes.

My 11 y/o senior cat has been adjusting well! 🐾
She threw up once during a bumpy spot towards the end of the long drive here, but settled in quickly after that by going straight to her water and food bowl.
By the way, you can also view her on Dragonsinn’s coat of arms.

I do like to cook at home most of the time and may add a few photos of recent simple dishes.
I thrifted a big slow cooker and an Ikea desk lamp via FB Marketplace, amongst a few other items.
I’ll try to add those pics as well another day 🍲
