In another belated or “oops, did I forget to publish that” travel-related post ๐ , here are some dragon photos I took during a trip to Montreal in early October 2024.
It was a fabulous time of the year to visit!

Where We Stayed
My sis and I stayed at the Holiday Inn Montreal Centre-ville Downtown.
It was located next to Chinatown (we went to the Pรขtisserie Coco Asian bakery daily, which specializes in Hong Kong-style breads and pastries!!). It was within walking distance to a subway station as well.
The hotel had a fancy koi pond and a huge dragon 3D embossed wall mural at the ground floor.

Earth Dragon Sculpture
I actually saw this sculpture on the way to the hotel from the airport.
We didn’t get a chance to see it up close as we had a lot of other things to do during the short trip.
Montreal artist Junko created an art installation in 2021 called โEarth Dragonโ overlooking the city of Montreal, made out of recycled materials.
As Google reviewer Par wrote:
“The name of the artist is Junko, and the piece is called Earth Dragon.
Thank you for creating this guardian to look over us!”
If you’re in the area and would like to see the dragon for yourself, here’s the exact location:
1001 Decarie Blvd, Montreal, Quebec H4A 3J1, Canada

Other Montreal Dragon Sightings
We had a great timeโand workoutโwalking all over the place.
The photos below are from:
- Montreal Botanical Gardens (we went on a Saturday afternoon, and there was a crazy long queue to get in)
- Montreal Museum of Fine Arts (you can read more about Briton Riviere’s Saint George and the Dragon painting here; 4th photo below)

This one isn’t a dragon pic, but it’s nice so I’ve included it. It was taken from the top of Mount Royal.
My sis is a professional artist/illustrator. Some of her captivating artwork does feature dragons. It’s sitting in my blog drafts somewhere and I’ll get round to posting it one of these days!
You can visit her site here in the meantime: CharleneChua.com
